You spend all day with the kids, but some days you have things that need to be done outside your home. You have bills to pay, a long shopping list that needs to be attended to, the list goes on. Is it even possible to go out with a crying baby and excited toddler who leads the way into this adventurous trip?
1. Pack basics. You don’t have to carry your whole wardrobe and kitchen for going out for just a few hours. Get what you need, a few diapers, wipes, a change of clothes in case there are accidents, a baby bottle and milk. For breastfeeding moms, even better less stuff to carry. For your toddler usually a favorite snack and toy will do.
2. Have a to-do-list. This makes your trip so much easier. You know exactly where you are going, go there go back home. No unnecessary window shopping! You know exactly what you are shopping for, you move faster, save money and best of all there will be less chances of your toddler pushing those stacked glass bottles of pasta sauce. Who wants to pay for those, plus the embarrassment!
3. Transport. No we are not talking about the latest Jeep! But how are you going to move around with your bundles of joy? For a baby, a baby carrier is ideal. The nice thing about babies is that they could be sleeping the whole time, and not even know that they ever left home. Now for the other bundle of joy, a stroller/pram could save you from all the worries you had. You don’t have to worry about them straying away or touching things they are not supposed to. And if its nap time, their schedule is not interrupted.
With these tips in mind you will make it home in one peace.
Sometimes moms worry about their looks or what people will think, hoping not to bump into anyone they know. Its normal but don’t be too hard on yourself. Most of the time you don’t have that extra time to put into grooming yourself, because you have to attend to a crying baby, you have to keep an eye on your toddler who keeps throwing their toys at the TV.
Get out there and do what needs to be done. Be a proud mommy, probably most of the moms you meet out there envy you, wondering how you do it. And best of all enjoy yourself, a change of scenery will do you good!
